Dallas | New Korean Restaurant, Read This Before You Decide to Go

⭐I wanted to try a new Korean restaurant in Dallas over the weekend. After searching around, my friend and I were both really intrigued by this place called DAQ. I'm giving you an honest review here, so I suggest you read through before deciding whether to go. 🐔Location and AmbianceWe went during peak dining hours on the weekend and had a tough time finding a parking spot. The interior of the restaurant is decent. However, the service on the day we visited was a bit lackluster. The waitstaff seemed quite inattentive. Even after ringing the table bell, we had to wait for a while to get their attention. It felt like we were the only ones there who needed service. Interestingly, apart from us, there were hardly any Asian faces in the restaurant—about 90% of the patrons were foreigners. 💖Overall Food Review and Specific Dishes We ordered a combo that included three dishes (one from each color category on the menu, see photo 5). It was enough to satisfy two of us. However, all three dishes had a sweet taste, which was a bit overwhelming by the end of the meal. Uni Bibimbap ✅ Once mixed, it was quite enjoyable. The rice was good, and the seasoning, though a bit heavy, was tasty with a sweet and sour flavor. However, there was no distinct taste of uni (sea urchin). If you’re craving uni bibimbap, I quietly recommend a Japanese restaurant in Austin I reviewed earlier that offers an all-you-can-eat uni bibimbap. Yukhoe (Raw Beef Salad) ✅ The meat was very fresh and the portion was surprisingly large. Compared to other Korean restaurants, this one was a bit too sweet. While the first half was enjoyable, by the second half, I was craving something saltier. Spicy Chicken Feet ✅ These were properly deboned and stewed in a spicy sauce. There were plenty of chicken feet, which was great. However, the two pieces of tteok (rice cake) included were not very tasty. The dish had a sweet and spicy flavor, but it leaned more towards the sweet side. I didn’t find it very spicy. I would suggest asking the waiter for a non-sweet dish instead. #WhereToGoThisWeekend #KoreanFood #RestaurantReview #NewYearNewEats #FoodieAdventures
