Dallas | This Highly-Rated Korean Restaurant

šŸ£Today I’m sharing my experience at Maht Gaek, a highly-rated Korean restaurant in Dallas. I’ve seen so many positive comments in the food posts about this place. We visited the Carrollton location, which is very close to the 99 Ranch Market. There are also bubble tea shops, bakeries, and Xiaolongkan Hot Pot nearby. The side dishes were pretty standard. For the main courses, we ordered two dishes: ā€¼ļøSpicy Squid Stir-Fry: A huge plate of sizzling, steaming squid stir-fry came out on a hot plate, which looked very appetizing. The flavor was quite spicy, which I loved, and it went perfectly with rice. There was a generous amount of squid in the dish, and I highly recommend it. It’s priced at $24.99. ✨Pork Neckbone Hotpot / Spine Pot: When this dish arrived, we immediately knew we wouldn’t be able to finish it—it was such a large pot. If you’re planning to order this, I’d suggest not ordering any other main dishes. However, to be honest, the beef spine was a bit underwhelming. It wasn’t as delicious as I had heard, but it wasn’t bad either. The beef spine was very tender and falling off the bone, but the soup base was a bit bland and not spicy enough. It tasted somewhat like braised pork ribs, and the potatoes were very soft. You could almost mistake it for a dish of braised pork ribs with potatoes. But for $46.99 per serving, I was a bit disappointed with the flavor. We only ate about 1/5 of it and took the rest home. I’m starting to wonder if we just didn’t order the right dishes. #Dallas #DallasFood #KoreanFoodInDallas #DallasLife
