Dallas | Vietnamese Sandwich at Saigon Deli
My Vietnamese colleague has always recommended Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches to me. Every time, I thought to myself, "This looks no different from Subway," and I wasn’t very interested. But my colleague kept emphasizing that Vietnamese sandwiches are very different from American ones! Recently, I was working on a project in Garland and stumbled upon the sandwich shop my colleague had recommended. 🥖 Saigon Deli Sooo good! It really hit the spot. I ordered the BBQ Pork Sandwich. The meat has a very Asian flavor—it’s red and reminiscent of char siu, but it’s not quite the same. It’s juicy and tender, not dry at all, and incredibly flavorful. There’s a generous amount of meat, a big chunk that almost bursts out of the sandwich. The filling also includes cilantro, pickled radish, jalapeños, and refreshing cucumber strips. But what really stood out was the bread. It’s a very crispy baguette, but unlike a traditional baguette, it’s softer and won’t hurt your mouth. The crust is crispy, and the inside is soft and fluffy. With all that meat stuffed inside, it’s incredibly satisfying. 😻 And it’s super affordable—just five bucks for one! ❤️ It’s hard to find a work meal with such great value. I also tried the Meatball version later, which was also very good. My colleague ordered the Chicken one, but he thought it was just okay. There was a very salty and umami-rich sauce inside that he found a bit too salty. Please let Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches become more popular! They’re really delicious and very different from American sandwiches. The meat is abundant, juicy, and refreshing. 😻 Address: 3341 W Walnut St #102, Garland, TX 75042 #Dallas #WhatToEatInDallas #DallasFood #VietnameseCuisine #VietnameseSandwich #VietnameseBaguette #Garland #Texas
