Dallas | Yakitori Omakase at Mabo
I went to this place with high expectations because I had an amazing experience with yakitori in Japan, and I haven't found anything as impressive in the US yet. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations. The yakitori was quite ordinary, and I thought the best dishes were actually the corn soup appetizer and the dessert. The prices were also on the higher side. 🌽The first two appetizers were probably my favorites: The first one was eggs with toast. The second was an incredibly delicious corn chowder. I usually don't like corn chowder, but I loved this one. 🍗When it came to the yakitori, most of the dishes on the menu were just okay: 1️⃣ The chicken hearts were undercooked, which gave them a bloody taste. 2️⃣ The A5 Wagyu beef didn't live up to its potential. 3️⃣ Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the extra order of chicken aorta. It was very juicy and well-cooked. 4️⃣ The chicken liver was okay, but again, it was a bit undercooked and had a slightly gamey flavor. The dessert was pretty good, but I won't go into too much detail. 📓In summary, I'll just write a food diary entry and say that I wouldn't really recommend this place. 📍 MĀBO 6109 Berkshire Ln B, Dallas, TX 75225 #Dallas #DallasLife #DallasFoodie #DallasCuisine #DallasJapaneseFood #Yakitori
