π Day 2: OKC to Kansas City via Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve We set out north from Oklahoma City toward Kansas City, with a special stop along the way: πΎ Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Located ~3 hours from OKC β easy to navigate to the main entrance. Walk the main trail through endless seas of tallgrass β itβs like stepping into a raw, untouched Midwestern landscape. β οΈ No dogs allowed β and for good reason! We encountered real wild bison herds π roaming freely. Theyβre calm if you keep your distance! π₯οΈ Perfect on a cool, cloudy day β the trail is peaceful and refreshing. Allow ~2 hours round trip. π« Fox Creek School Just a 5-minute drive from the trailhead β a charming 100-year-old schoolhouse. If the doorβs open, step inside and feel the history! πΈ Golden hour here is magical β prairie + sunset + rustic school = unreal photos! π Evening in Kansas City Arrived around 4 PM and headed straight to: ποΈ National WWI Museum and Memorial Climb to the top for panoramic views of the KC skyline and Union Station. Blue hour is ideal for moody silhouette shots! π· π Dinner: Q39 Barbecue A KC MUST! We tried the Certified Angus Beef Brisket Burnt Ends β tender, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
