Dallas Cat Café + Hutchins
✨A sunny day starts with a dozen oysters at Fish and Grill. Honestly, the oysters from the Gulf of Mexico are a bit muddy when eaten raw, but they're quite good when grilled. It's hard to believe this is the level of a place with over 1700 reviews and a 4.5-star Google rating. ❤️After eating oysters, one must confidently engage in a manly activity: playing with kittens. Whiskers n' Soda has a small storefront, but it's a treasure trove inside. There are over 20 adult cats in the front hall and more than 20 kittens in the small room. However, you only have fifteen minutes to play with the kittens. Can't... stop... loving... (cue the background music) 🚢It was just too much fun. The kittens were all adorable and well-behaved, and the environment was very clean. I booked an hour, but it wasn't enough. The price is $16/hr, but the drinks were a letdown. The cold brew was just a large bottle of Stok from the supermarket poured into a paper cup with ice, and they charged $7.5 right in front of me. Anyway, all the kittens here are rescues and available for adoption. The adoption fee is around $150, which includes all vaccinations and any medical expenses needed within the first year. Considering it's for animal rescue, I'll let the coffee slide. 🎬I visited the antique market in McKinney (Antique Co. Mall) and then randomly found a BBQ place to eat... turns out it was a well-known spot. I ordered a pound of brisket, a pound of ribs, two Texas twinkies (a local specialty of stuffed jalapeños), and two sides... turns out I ordered way too much. In the end, I was so full I felt like a greasy uncle. In a nutshell, the dry rub was excellent; you barely need any extra sauce. The twinkies were quite unique. It's really hard to choose between Pecan Lodge, Terry Black's, and Hutchins. But as Ray Parker Jr. would say, "I want them all." #Dallas #SoloTravel #Texas
