Dallas Dining Review | New Omakase Place: DOZO

I came across a newly opened omakase place in Dallas and couldn't wait to book a spot. Overall, I'm definitely coming back! Highlights: 🍣 Otoro: The otoro was truly amazing—rich and melt-in-your-mouth without being greasy. I've had otoro before that was so fatty it felt oily in the mouth, but this one was perfect. It was soft and luxurious without leaving you feeling overwhelmed by oil. 🦐 I love sushi places that serve sweet shrimp with fried shrimp heads! I'm a huge fan of shrimp heads, and this place nailed it. 🐚 Scallops: The scallops were incredibly fresh and sweet. I've never seen scallop nigiri presented this way—it was so cute and delightful. eel: The eel was particularly impressive. The meat was thick and rich, and when paired with bonito flakes, it was like a burst of flavor in your mouth. It was so aromatic! 🐟 Mackerel: Surprisingly, there was no fishy taste at all. The mackerel was perfectly seasoned with chives, making it a delightful dish. urchin: The uni (sea urchin) was a bit underwhelming. The portion was quite small. It's a pity that I missed the 20% discount during their trial period, but overall, I thought the $120 price for a 15-course meal was definitely worth it! They also offer several other options with fewer courses, including a menu focused on hand rolls, which all seem like great deals. I'll definitely try them next time! #omakase #NewYearNewRestaurant #RestaurantReview #JapaneseCuisine #Dallas #DallasFood #Texas #DallasOmakase #DOZO
