Dallas Eatery: Smokehouse and Craft Bar

On Father's Day weekend, I took my kids and my father-in-law to check out Barrel and Bone in The Colony. As the name suggests, it's a place with a "barrel and bone" vibe 😂. When the waiter asked what I wanted to drink, I initially thought about ordering their famous Old Fashioned, but then I remembered that brunch just isn't brunch without a Bloody Mary. Let me tell you, their Bloody Mary is loaded with goodies—celery, olives, and even a pickled okra spear. It's the perfect drink for a hot summer day, especially when paired with their smokey brisket. The combination of spicy, salty, and smoky flavors is surprisingly refreshing. Their burger 🍔 is an absolute must-try. It features two thick, juicy patties that are incredibly flavorful. My meat-loving son couldn't finish his, which gives you an idea of just how big they are 😂. My eldest had the Biscuit Brisket and Gravy with two over-easy eggs on the side. The dish came with their house-made fried potatoes. His verdict? Absolute comfort food—10 out of 10! 🤩 I went for the Pork Pibil Hash. Normally, it comes with scrambled eggs, but I asked for over-easy eggs instead. The runny yolks added a rich texture and depth of flavor to the dish, which I really enjoyed. My mother-in-law had the smoked pork ribs. She thought they were okay—too peppery and a bit dry, but the flavor was decent. There's definitely room for improvement with the ribs. #LocalSpotRecommendation #QualityTimeTogether #DallasFood #DallasLife
