Dallas Food | A Beloved Local Gem: Ajumma
I recently moved to Carrollton and decided to explore some new culinary spots. I went to the highly popular Ajumma with a friend. When we walked in, we were the only non-Koreans there. The three dishes we ordered were all incredibly impressive and super authentic! 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 Recommended Dishes 1️⃣ Oxtail Soup (p2 top right) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This seemingly plain white soup is refreshing but not bland. The seasoning is spot-on. The oxtail inside is tender and chewy, making it the perfect comfort food after being sick or a hangover. 2️⃣ Spicy Seafood Udon (p2 top left & p3 takeout) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Despite its red appearance, it’s actually not spicy at all! The squid is chewy and satisfying, and the udon noodles are perfectly coated in the broth. It’s hard to stop eating! It reminds me a bit of Xinjiang stir-fried noodles. Even as a takeout option, the quality remains excellent. 3️⃣ Spicy Blood Sausage (p2 middle) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my first time trying blood sausage. I thought it would be filled with blood, but it actually contains glass noodles. After being stir-fried, it has no strange taste at all and is very fragrant. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet! 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 Unfortunately, I missed out on their popular seaweed rolls both times I visited. The only downside is that they close quite early, which can be a bit frustrating. But I still highly recommend this place! Overall, I would give Ajumma ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The portions are generous, and the value for money is excellent!
