Dallas Food | Barcelona Wine Bar
A sip of wine, a bite of meat: Since it's called a wine bar, I directly ordered a wine flight: Aperitivos. It includes half a glass of sparkling wine, half a glass of sherry, and half a glass of vermouth with orange. The vermouth has a spiced flavor that I'm not quite used to, but the other two pair well with the tapas meats, making one feel light-headed. My partner ordered a glass of sangria, which is rather light on the alcohol. It feels almost like a pity to call it wine; it's basically just a small glass of juice. They also had a Catalan gin and tonic, garnished with rosemary, which again had a spiced flavor. Spiced drinks and I just don't get along; my partner enjoyed it but still commented that the gin flavor wasn't strong enough. We ordered a bunch of tapas: 🦪 Grilled oysters, served with a spicy sauce and a tangy salt base. The grilling and seasoning were a bit heavy-handed, and I couldn't really taste the oysters themselves. 🐷 Pork belly, served with a chimichurri sauce that had a nice kick. For someone from Guangdong, the spice was a bit much. However, the pork was really just average. The cut was uneven in terms of fat and lean meat, and it was a bit dry. The sauce and the meat seemed to be doing their own thing. 🦀 Crab croquettes, which I ordered based on other people's recommendations. They were freshly fried and had a light crab flavor. But they felt more like Japanese croquettes to me. 🍗 Chorizo sausage with figs. The first bite was delicious, but the seasoning was a bit too salty for the whole portion. The figs had a candied texture, and the sweet sauce might pair better with chorizo if eaten with bread. #SpanishCuisine #Dallas #DallasFood #FoodAmbiance #BeautifulMeals
