I wanted to share some feedback following our visit to your Dallas location yesterday evening to celebrate our 17th Anniversary as family. We were seated on the outdoor patio and had just started enjoying our food and drinks when a very sudden and heavy rainstorm hit. Unfortunately, the downpour caught everyone by surprise and completely drenched our table, including all of our meals and beverages. We had to leave early as a result, and while we understand that weather is beyond anyone’s control, it was a disappointing end to what had started as a great experience. After paying our bill and leaving, I couldn’t help but feel it was a bit unfair to have been fully charged given that most of our meal was ruined and we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. Many guests rushed inside, but there wasn’t any acknowledgment from the staff about the situation, nor an offer of a discount or indoor accommodation, which considering the circumstances. I am reaching out not to place blame, but to share
Updated Review!!! Following our earlier experience, we were graciously invited back to Barcelona Wine Bar by Mimi Arnaiz, who went above and beyond to make things right. Mimi was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and we are truly thankful for her thoughtful gesture. This time, we were seated again on the patio and had the pleasure of being served by Rebecca, who was absolutely wonderful attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our evening. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was perfect, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. To our delight, our entire meal was fully covered as a courtesy, and we genuinely felt valued and appreciated as guests. We had such a memorable time and are very glad we returned. Thank you to Mimi, Rebecca, and the entire team for turning our experience around we look forward to dining with you again soon! this experience in the spirit of constructive feedback. I hope it can be taken into account as part of your ongoing commitment to guest satisfaction. We truly look forward to returning and experiencing the full Barcelona stay as intended, hopefully under better circumstances, and perhaps with the kind of thoughtful gesture your team...

Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 stars Service: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Stepping into Barcelona Dallas feels like taking a mini-vacation to Spain. The vibrant colors, cozy booths, and warm lighting create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly, making sure your every need is met. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. She checked on us regularly without being intrusive, ensuring we enjoyed our meal.
Food: 3 out of 5 stars
Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the high standards set by the atmosphere and service. While some dishes were quite enjoyable, others were lackluster and disappointing.
The Hits:
Gambas al Ajillo: These succulent shrimp were cooked to perfection and swimming in a garlicky sauce that was bursting with flavor.
The Misses: However, one dish that truly fell short of expectations was the seafood paella. This iconic Spanish dish, unfortunately, lacked the vibrancy and flavor we were hoping for: Overcooked Rice: The rice in the paella was unfortunately overcooked, losing its al dente texture and becoming mushy. Missing Socarrat: The coveted socarrat, the crispy layer at the bottom of the pan, was completely absent, robbing the dish of its signature element. Lack of Flavor: The paella lacked the vibrant and complex flavors that define this classic dish. It simply tasted bland and uninspired.
This disappointing experience was particularly jarring as I had enjoyed the paella at Barcelona Dallas on multiple previous visits. This inconsistency raises concerns about the kitchen's ability to maintain quality standards.
Recommendation:
For these reasons, I strongly recommend removing the paella from the menu at Barcelona Dallas. This will allow the kitchen to focus on refining its existing dishes and potentially introducing new, exciting options. Until the paella can be consistently prepared to a high standard, it's better to remove it from the menu than risk...
Read moreThis was my first time at Barcelona and will be my last at this location. The food and cocktails were great! That's about it. The service was alright, server kept running off. We couldn't get a full order in without him bolting elsewhere. They need to update their reservations system. Reservation time was for 8:15 for a party of 4. We had to wait an hour. After reading the reviews, we were definitely not the only party that had to deal with this. It was unacceptable. Everyone in my party made it on time only to be told to wait by the bar. Which was super crowded. I felt bad for the patrons at the bar. Imagine trying to enjoy your time only to have groups of people waiting to be seated behind you? Talk about no personal space! No thank you! The charge for the dinner. We decided to split the bill in half. We didn't try to nit pick and tell our waiter what we wanted charged on each card either. It was suppose to be split in HALF. Now my friends graciously paid the gratuity in CASH, covering the full 20% for the full amount. I checked my bank statements to see that Barcelona charged me for the full bill amount and retracted the initial charge. I did put cash as the tip on my first ticket because tip was covered in cash already. How could you just pick one card to charge the full amount and not think we wouldn't notice? It isn't even about the amount at this point. It is about the principle and the ethics of the staff and I am highly leaning towards disputing this charge with my bank. I've worked in the food service industry also and you cannot assume with charges either which is what I think the server was thinking. They won't noticed and I'll just charge one card. Lastly, the valet. Outright rude especially the man with the long beard. Instead of explaining where to correctly go to get assistance with the valet, we were greeted with a loud yell of "JESUS" and quick finger pointing. Then to just be ignored. Like I said won't be returning. Smithys next door is impeccable compared...
