Dallas Steam Dumpling

✨I almost forgot that Steam Dumpling has opened in Dallas. I was thinking about what to eat for lunch and decided to give it a try. For appetizers, I ordered mashed potato shrimp rolls and cold marinated pig's ear. For the main course, I got a serving of oil-splashed hand-pulled noodles, a plate of soup dumplings, and a plate of siu mai. ❤️Let's start with the delicious ones: The pig's ear and shrimp rolls were not on the menu because they are new items. The waiter helped us order them directly. The cold marinated pig's ear was really well-seasoned, not spicy but very fragrant, with a hint of sweetness that was really pleasant on a hot Texas summer day. The mashed potato shrimp rolls, which I would like to name "Thousand Threads Shrimp," had shredded potatoes on the outside, a layer of mashed potatoes in the middle, and shrimp inside. The sweet and sour sauce paired with it made it not greasy at all, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and that thin layer of mashed potatoes was the icing on the cake. 🍟The oil-splashed hand-pulled noodles were decent. The garlic and chili powder that came with it were very fragrant after mixing. However, maybe the flavor would be richer if there were more seasonings like garlic. 🤍Next, I'll talk about the ones that I personally found a bit disappointing: the soup dumplings and siu mai. Since the name is Steam Dumpling, naturally, I had high expectations for the steamed dumplings. But after tasting them, I was still disappointed. Judging by the pleats on the wrappers, I think they should be handmade in the store (not entirely sure). The siu mai had a filling of pork and sesame seeds, and the soup dumplings had regular pork filling. #Dallas #DallasLife #SoupDumplings #DallasNoodles
