Food was good!

Fried calamari was good! Golden brown crispy chewy tender squid rings and pieces. Came with a sweet and sour sauce.

Chilli oil dumplings.

Pork dumplings with chili oil... They were good but the oil isnt mouth burning but has a spicy kick and I don't think it's just chilli oil I think it has szechuan pepper soaked in it or infused in it, I get that numb bitter tingling feeling in my mouth The chili oil is on the side in a small cup but it's plenty for the dumplings

The scallion pancake was very good! It reminds me of naan with garlic cheese and onion.

The Chinese burger To put it short It's a pulled Chinese pork Sandwich on steam bun? Bread, I wish I could add something to it like onion, scallion, cilantro and chilli oil flakes but as is it's not bad.

The flat noodles! The soy sauce? only comes in a little cup but it's powerful! I understand estimated it thinking it would not be enough but with the chilli seasoning and chili oil it's just the right amount. If you love dumplings noodles and or thicker noodles this is a great dish. Doesn't come with any meats not sure if you can add any.

Cash and card they have kiosk for ordering as well as online options! I think it's cheaper to go in person. I think they have free delivery not sure the details.

$10-20 a person. Portion sizes are good. Family friendly.

Place is clean! service was great and fast!

Only bad thing is construction on 99 from Fm1093 to i-10 you can take Fry Rd or turn in the entrance near whole foods market and circle around to steamed dumplings but whole foods shoppers don't seem to know...

I had been craving noodles and dumplings for a while, so I was thrilled to find out that Steam Dumpling opened in Katy, saving me the drive to Chinatown - Bellaire. My first visit to this spot did not disappoint!

The customer service was friendly and exceeded expectations, with water always refilled promptly. For my meal, I decided to try a variety of dishes. First, the Chinese burger caught my eye out of curiosity, and it did not disappoint. It reminded me of the BBQ pork bao you get during dim sum, and the flavor was spot on.

Next, I ordered two noodle dishes: the spicy beef noodle and the wide hand-pulled noodles. The spicy beef noodle was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, and the spice level was perfect—although I wouldn’t mind a bit more heat. The wide hand-pulled noodles, served with a simple chili garlic oil, were incredibly satisfying. The noodles were chewy and fun to eat, and the chili oil’s flavor was addictive.

Lastly, we had the pan-fried pork and shrimp dumplings, which were an absolute highlight. They were juicy and bursting with flavor with every bite—a perfect way to round out the meal. Oh yeah, the portions were well-worth the price and shareable.

This is my first time here, but it definitely won’t be the last. I believe Steam Dumpling is family-owned, and I highly recommend supporting this hidden gem if you’re in the Katy or Cinco Ranch area. It’s conveniently located by the 99 tollway and well worth the visit!

A wonderful dining...

Finally made my way down to try out Steam Dumpling and man it was totally worth it.

First off, the service was excellent. The servers are very polite, attentive, and highly efficient. We didn't feel rushed but you can tell they want to clear tables as fast as possible to get the next party seated due to their popularity. Makes sense from a business standpoint which I can appreciate.

Second, the food is delicious. We were served our meal within 10 minutes of ordering and everything was fresh and piping hot. We ordered the beef pancake, shrimp and pork steam dumplings, spicy beef noodle soup, and kung pao chicken. It's hard to choose what I liked the most but the beef pancake may have a slight edge. The dumplings were very tasty and satisfied my craving. I got to try my fiance's beef noodle soup and it was very flavorful with perfect noodles. My kung pao chicken was also packed with flavor with just the right amount of spice.

We will definitely be visiting here again because there were so many great looking items that we want to eventually try...
