Day trip around Perth ➡️ Albany in Western Australia is so much fun!!
Driving directly from Perth to Albany via Albany ❄️❄️Highway southbound takes roughly less than 5 hours. It’s highly recommended to fill up your fuel tank before setting off, as fuel prices south of Perth are significantly higher than in Perth itself. Since we planned to head west to Denmark the next day, we chose to visit Albany and several scenic spots to its west. I’ve marked their approximate locations on the map🌌🌌 Wind Farm 🌬️ A row of wind turbines by the coast is truly breathtaking. I had no idea wind turbines were so massive—they even gave off a slight sense of "giant object phobia."💞💞 🚕🚕My partner and I argued about how many turbines there were but couldn’t count them clearly. In the end, we took a photo to count later The Gap and nearby small beaches 🏝️ The sight of ocean waves crashing against rocks, blending deep blue and white, is incredibly beautiful. It feels like you could sit there listening to the sound of the sea for hours.😍😍 On the way to a small beach near The Gap, I saw the clearest rainbow of my life and took photos I love. They might not be "perfect," but they’re full of life.🥨 Whaling Station 🚢 There’s a large whaling ship here, and I heard it houses whale skeletons. However, entry requires a fee 🧾—the ticket is supposed to cover access to both the Whale Museum and a private zoo nearby.👣👣 Desert Mounted Corps Memorial 🦘 We wanted to explore some cultural sites, and when we arrived, it happened to be Anzac Day. This is a war memorial, with veterans’ memoirs displayed along the road. From the hilltop where the memorial stands, you can see the entire city of Albany and Scenic✨✨ 🌻(The photos I took of the memorial are overexposed, and I was too lazy to edit them—seriously, every time I shoot such wide landscapes, I can’t help but wish I had a telephoto lens!) Brig Amity ⛵️ This is said to be the first ship that landed in Albany. You can pay 5 AUD to go on board and explore. The ship is quite large, but it still seems cramped considering it once housed 60 people (as mentioned in the introductions)⛅⛅ There are many museums nearby most of which are free—only the prison museum charges an entry fee, so you can visit based on your interests. Finally, we tried the so-called "No. 1 Fish🐟 and Chips in Western Australia"! It was incredibly delicious, with a variety of unique sauces to choose from. I even found oyster sauce and black vinegar there—what a surprise, haha! #Perth #PerthLife #InternationalStudentTravel #WesternAustralia
