DC|1789 – Is This the Federalist Old-Money Aesthetic? 💼
Missed out on Restaurant Week before, but finally made it to 1789 this time! As the weather cools down, nothing beats a warm, elegant meal. 🍂 A reliably excellent fine dining spot—totally worth it even outside Restaurant Week! The signature rack of lamb was fantastic—herb-crusted, slightly spicy, and generously portioned. 🍖 Have you tried a herb-crusted dish that won you over? The Prime NY Strip was classic—maybe not groundbreaking, but delicious and deeply satisfying. 🥩 Do you prefer adventurous flavors or classic steakhouse cuts? The foie gras was rich and aromatic—as it should be! (If a French place messes this up, they deserve a call to the cops… 👮😂) Many recommend the scallop—I didn’t totally get the fried kale ball on top, but the scallop itself was tasty! 😄 Have you ever been puzzled by a garnish but loved the main? Dessert was a bit too sweet for me—felt like the chef’s American sweet tooth kicked in hard! 🍰 Are you team less-sweet or the-more-sugar-the-better? 📍 1226 36th St NW, Washington, DC 20007 #FrenchCuisine #DCfoodExplore #DMVfood #DMV #WashingtonDC #DC #FineDining #ClassicElegance #LambLover #SteakhouseVibes #FoieGrasPerfection #CozyDining #DateNightDC #OldMoneyVibes #DiningExperience #ChefStyle #SweetToothProblems
