🍳 DC's Trendy Breakfast Spot | Finally Checked Out Tatte! 🎉

After seeing countless recommendations for Tatte, known as one of DC’s most atmospheric brunch spots, I finally made my way there today! 🙌 👀 Vibe & Ambiance Tatte has multiple locations around the DC area. To avoid the crowd, we headed to the Arlington branch—and it was way less packed! We arrived around 11 AM on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait at all. 😊 The café has that classic French minimalist feel: white walls, wooden furniture, and soft lighting—super Instagram-friendly! 📸 The overall atmosphere was relaxed; everyone was just enjoying a slow brunch and good conversation. 💡 How It Works: You check the menu first → order at the counter → grab a number → find your own seat. Simple and efficient! The food came out pretty quickly too. ⏱️ 🍽️ What We Ordered: • Roasted Salmon Winter Vegetable Rice Bowl ($18.50) The salmon was perfectly seared—crispy outside, tender inside. The rice was fragrant and well-seasoned with aromatic spices, though the bowl felt a tad dry overall. • Potato, Mushroom, & Bacon Shakshuka ($17.00) A delicious surprise! 🥓🍳 I’m usually not a huge fan of traditional tomato-based shakshuka, but their new white sauce version was incredible! Creamy, rich, and packed with mushrooms, bacon, potatoes, and herbs—topped with a runny egg. A bit on the salty side, but perfect with bread! ✅ Pro Tip: Pour some of that creamy shakshuka sauce over the salmon rice bowl—it’s a game-changer! Makes the rice so much moister and flavorful! 😍 • Pineapple Passion Fruit Matcha Bombe ($7.75) Layers of cake, passion fruit-pineapple jam, and matcha mousse. Well-balanced sweetness—not overly sugary like some American desserts. Refreshing and light! 🍍🍵 ☕️ Miss: Pistachio Latte ($6.35) Unfortunately, this was a letdown. No nutty flavor—just pure syrup sweetness. The coffee itself was pretty flat. Not recommended! 😬 🌿 Final Thoughts & Rating Tatte lives up to the hype in terms of ambiance and presentation. That said, while everything was good, nothing truly wowed me. ⭐️ Overall Rating: 7/10 Great for a casual brunch, catching up with friends, or just relaxing—but not a "must-revisit-right-away" kind of place for me.
