DC | Limani Review – Hits, Misses
I’d been wanting to try Limani ever since dining at Gordon Ramsay’s place nearby! Overall, the seafood here shines — but a few dishes and service quirks left me with mixed feelings. 🦪 The Standouts ✨ Oysters: Exceptionally fresh and sweet, with zero fishy taste — truly excellent. ✨ Salmon Avocado Tartare: Delicious! Creamy avocado and fresh salmon are a perfect match, and the crispy crackers on the side made it even better 😍. ✨ Grilled Octopus: Tender, smoky, and beautifully seasoned — possibly the best octopus I’ve had in DC. ⚡️ The Letdowns ▪️ Lobster Pasta: Extremely salty the first time. They remade it, which helped, but it was still overseasoned — just okay. ▪️ Steak: Ordered medium well, and it was still tender. The asparagus was nice, but the potatoes were bland and forgettable. ▪️ Tap Water Situation: This was… odd. The water had a distinct river-like taste — almost like it was drawn straight from the channel next to the restaurant 🚱. Since they don’t offer free refills on soda, we ended up using our precious ice water to wash down the salty pasta. 💰 Price Point Around $100 per person. For a restaurant leaning toward fine dining, the water quality and inconsistent seasoning don’t quite match the price tag. 📍 Limani 670 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024 Verdict: Worth visiting for the oysters and octopus if you’re a seafood lover — but maybe bring your own water bottle, and don’t expect flawless execution across the menu. #DCEats #LimaniDC #MediterraneanFood #SeafoodRestaurant #HonestReview #FineDiningNotReally
