DC | The Best Asian Fusion I've Ever Had (Seriously!) šŸ‡āœØ

We were actually on our way to Silver Lyan when we passed by this place. I checked Google Reviews—it had a 4.4 rating, so I was a bit hesitant. But then I asked a friend from the DMV if it was good, and they said, "Yes, highly recommended!" So after our drinks at Silver Lyan, we headed straight to this Vietnamese fusion spot. And let me tell you—Moon Rabbit is hands down the BEST fusion I’ve ever had! šŸ„¢šŸŽ‰ Fusion cuisine is hard to get right. Some well-known fusion spots don’t really suit the Asian palate, but Moon Rabbit nailed it. I loved it so much I’m planning to go back tomorrow! šŸø Pho Đặc Biệt Cocktail A Japanese whiskey base washed with beef broth, served with a grilled pickled shallot. The first sip was unusual—it’s savory, like drinking a rich beef pho! šŸœ As the drink warmed up, a subtle sweetness came through. So creative and well-balanced. I’d already had three drinks at Silver Lyan, but I couldn’t resist trying this—and it was totally worth it. šŸ° Durian Mousse Paired with milk cookie crumbs and passion fruit ice—this dessert was the perfect ending to the meal! The durian and milk combo softened the durian’s strong aroma, making it smooth and delightful. The passion fruit ice added a refreshing touch, and the dill oil? Surprisingly genius! šŸ‘ØšŸ³ I was so impressed I immediately followed the pastry chef on Instagram! šŸ¦€ Crab Gnocchi Not your traditional Italian gnocchi—this one’s made with tapioca, giving it a bouncy, pearl-like texture (exactly what I imagined gnocchi should be!). Served with a roasted crab roe sauce and crab meat, with a hint of chili oil. A bit salty on its own, but so flavorful and delicious—I loved it! šŸ™ Octopus with Blood Cake First time seeing blood cake in the U.S., and it had no weird taste! I usually avoid blood and offal, but this was amazing. Served with three Asian-inspired sauces: cilantro, date, and goji berry. So harmonious! The chef must’ve been inspired by Taiwanese street food—blood cake there is often paired with peanut powder and cilantro. So tasty, I’m definitely ordering this again tomorrow!
