π DC β Richmond Day Trip (Detective Conan Edition!) π΅οΈββοΈβ¨
Left DC at 7:20 AM on Amtrak and arrived at 10 AM in Richmond, VA β the state capital! Started at The Poe Museum, just a 7-minute walk from Main Street Station. As a Detective Conan fan, this was a dream come true π€π! The museum is set in a garden-like space. Right at the entrance, I was greeted by Edgar β a little black cat πββ¬ who guided me through the cottages! Each room showcased Edgar Allan Poeβs life and works. Then in the garden, I met the second cat: Tib, a playful tuxedo kitty who loves climbing trees π³π». Next stop: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts πΌοΈ. I came mainly for the FabergΓ© Exhibit β inspired by Detective Conan: The Last Wizard of the Century π₯π. Finally saw the real Imperial Easter Eggsβ¦ stunningly beautiful! The one in my photo was a gift from Tsar Nicholas II to his wife β and itβs the one that most closely matches the egg from the Conan movie! β¨ In the afternoon: American Civil War Museum near the James River βοΈπ β highly recommended for history lovers! Canal Walk πΆββοΈπ§: A bit underwhelming but has some historical markers. Walked all the way to the Virginia State Capitol ποΈ β fun fact: Virginia is one of only four U.S. states called a βCommonwealthβ π€πΊπΈ? (If you know why, comment below!) Wrapped back to Main Street Station by 5 PM and took Amtrak back to DC β a true blitz day-trip! π₯𧳠#Richmond #EdgarAllanPoe #DetectiveConan #CivilWar #ACSFall2025 #DC #AmtrakAdventure #AnimeInRealLife
