DC Dining | The Dabney, a Michelin One-Star Restaurant
๐ The Dabney, Washington D.C. โญ This restaurant, hailed as one of the best among Washingtonโs 100 top eateries, felt a bit overrated to me. ๐ The appetizers were impressive, but the main course and dessert were just average. I probably wonโt be back for a second visit. The ambiance, however, was niceโquiet with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work and even see the wood-fired grill. ๐ฅ ๐ฝ๏ธ Potato Crisps with Blueberry Sauce โ Delightful! The first bite was a revelation. The potatoes were super thin and crispy. ๐ฅ ๐ฝ๏ธ Butter and Cabbage Bites โ Perfect for a quick snack, these were quite tasty. ๐ฅฌ ๐ฝ๏ธ Hoppin's Cake โ Just okay. ๐ฐ ๐ฝ๏ธ Fish โ Lacked flavor. ๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ Tomato and Fava Beans โ Not my favorite. ๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ Maryland Blue Crab โ Decent and fresh. It tasted a bit like the tentacles on takoyaki. ๐ฆ ๐ฝ๏ธ Main Course: Pork Tenderloin โ The meat was nothing special, but the little bread rolls were super fragrant and came with pumpkin-stuffed pork. ๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ Anniversary Special: Caviar Dish โ This was a highlight and actually quite good. ๐ ๐จ Dessert: Peanut Ice Cream and Chocolate Pie โ Just average. ๐ซ #Foodie #WashingtonDC #DCFood #DCDining #Michelin #MichelinRestaurant #RestaurantReview
