DC Japanese BBQ Michelin Recommended Restaurant Love, Makoto
Came to check out a niche Japanese restaurant that’s been recommended by Michelin, Love, Makoto. The restaurant is located next to Georgetown Law School, with an interior decor that incorporates elements of a Japanese Torii gate ⛩️⛩️⛩️, featuring red and black tones. Although the main body is connected, it’s divided into three separate restaurants: Dear Sushi, Beloved BBQ, and Hiya Izakaya. We tried both the BBQ and the izakaya sections. Each restaurant has its own separate menu, and if you want to have both BBQ and grilled chicken, well, only children make choices; adults want it all. Highly recommend the BBQ section. We went for the Omakase, a $65 meal standard, where each person gets two plates of meat. The quality is really top-notch, with four different cuts 🥩🥩🥩, including US Prime, Angus, US Wagyu, and Kobe. Each type was delicious and came with a kimchi platter and fluffy rice 🍚🍚🍚, which was very satisfying. The izakaya section, however, is not as highly recommended. The yakitori is buy three get one free 🍢🍢🍢, but it was somewhat underwhelming. The chicken wings were burned on one side and bitter, and the chicken leg meat was very gamey. My friend’s Negi Chicken, which was supposed to have scallions, only had the scallion skin. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend trying the izakaya section. In summary, the BBQ is fantastic and is a Japanese BBQ spot in DC that I would come back to repeatedly. #MichelinRestaurantAdventure #BBQ #RestaurantRecommendations #LuxuryOnTheTongue #DC #dmvAdventure #dmvEatAndPlay #JapaneseBBQIzakaya #RestaurantRecommendations #Wagyu
