DC Two-Michelin-Star Dining đœïžâš Pineapple and Pearls
Tried this spot in DC that I hadnât had a chance to visit before. Sat at the Chefâs Counterâthe booking page said itâs great for solo diners, and it really is a chill vibe. đž TL;DR: Service and presentation were perfect, but the flavors werenât for meâway too sour. A one-time experience was enough. Though the menu listed only four courses, they served lots of little extras in betweenâleft feeling full! For the starter, I chose âEven if you donât like lamb,â which had a herbal taste I wasnât into đ¶ They gave me a complimentary âTuna & Watermelonâ dishârefreshing but super sour (which is why I didnât pick it originallyâI saw ponzu and knew itâd be tart đ ). But hey, free dish, no complaints! Another appetizer tasted like a Filet-O-Fish stuffed dumpling (đ€). The fish in the main course was good but a bit salty. The palate cleanser đč jelly was pretty cool, and I loved the đ & đ§ pairing. Dessert looked gorgeousâsaw the rainbow berry sorbet at the next table: six tiny scoops from deep purple to light pink lined along the plate. But honestly, it was just six spoonfuls of sorbetâfelt freezing after eating it đ€Šâïž I went with the đ” brĂ»lĂ©e instead, which suited my taste better, and the mini đ© was amazing! At the end of the meal, they gave a big cup of popcorn-flavored ice cream I really likedâbut I was glad I didnât pick the berry sorbet, or Iâd have been full of ice! Overall, this restaurantâs flavor profile just wasnât for meâtoo sour đ„č Have you been to Pineapple and Pearls? What did you thinkâlove it or too acidic?
