Del Mar Spanish Restaurant in DC 🇪🇸|A Riverside Dining Gem! 🌊

Over the past few months, I’ve tried many places, but it’s been a while since one made me want to share a full food review! 🗣️✨ This weekend, I visited Del Mar by the river in DC – and this Spanish spot was full of delightful surprises! 🥘💫 The menu is divided into sections: raw bar, tapas, grilled dishes, and paella. Each section has standout dishes worth trying! 📖🍴 1️⃣ Red Prawn Crudo 🦐 The prawns were incredibly fresh and sweet, enhanced with olive oil, pine nuts, thinly sliced mushrooms, and a hint of truffle. The added richness and layers of flavor were superb! Enjoy it with crispy crackers or toasted bread – simply delicious! 🍞💖 2️⃣ Grilled Scallops 🔥 The scallops were cooked to perfect tenderness. At first glance, the creamy sauce seemed like it might be heavy – but underneath was a tangy green sauce that balanced everything beautifully! Topped with trout roe for a little burst of flavor! 🐟💥 3️⃣ Ibérico Ham 🥓 A star of Spanish cuisine! Gently warmed by a small candle, the ham released its rich, savory aroma. Served with crusty bread and tangy olives – a classic combo! Tasty, though as a meat lover, I wished the slices were a bit thicker! 😋🍖 4️⃣ Chorizo & Calamari Paella 🥘 You can’t visit a Spanish restaurant without trying paella! As a squid lover, I went straight for the squid ink version – and it exceeded expectations! The ink and squid were super fresh, with no fishy taste. The squid was tender, not chewy at all. The chorizo had a lovely ham aroma, balanced with a squeeze of lemon for brightness! 🍋🔥 Other dishes we tried were also delicious, but I’ll keep it brief here! Overall, Chef Fabio has a talent for using tangy sauces to balance flavors – whether seafood or rich meats, everything felt light yet flavorful! 👨🍳💚 The restaurant’s ambiance is lovely too – right by the Potomac River, perfect for a stroll after the meal. 🌅🚶♀️ Aside from being a bit pricey, there’s really nothing to complain about. Highly recommended! 👍🌟 Final Score: 9/10 🏆 #WillReturnAgain #BeautifulRestaurant #SpanishCuisine #RestaurantRecommendation #Foodie #InternationalFlavors #USA #HiddenGemEats #WashingtonDC #RiversideDining #PaellaLover #TapasTime #ChefFabio #PotomacViews #DateNightSpot #FoodReview #DCeats #ElegantDining #TravelEats #FoodGoals
