π» Des Moines Restaurant Rec | Lua Brewing
This is one of my go-to spots in Des Moines, though itβs a bit hit-or-miss. Lua Brewing changes their menu regularly, and when they get it right, the food can be fantastic! But be prepared: some visits are better than others. π½οΈ What We Tried: Fried Brie π§ β Classic fried cheese (very American), decent but not special. Fried Tofu Bites β Better than the brie! Crispy and flavorful. Italiano Cubano Sandwich π₯ͺ β Made with pickles, roasted pork, garlic mayo, salami, and cheese. The bread was hard and average. As an Asian-food lover, this was too heavy and "white palate"-focused for me. πΉ Drinks: Oh Yes π β A fruity, tangy berry-infused light drink! Highly recommended. Yellow King π β Sweet with a mild alcohol kick β simple but refreshing. Note: They check ID, and all drinks are light (no hard liquor). β οΈ Tips: Check their website before going! The menu changes often, and some days are very sandwich/burger-heavy. Great for drinks and snacks β less ideal if youβre craving non-American food. Perfect for casual hangs or girlβs night! π π Address: 1525 High St, Des Moines, IA 50309 β Rating: 4.4/5 β Solid for drinks and vibes, but check the food menu first! #DesMoines #LuaBrewing #IowaEats #Brewery #FoodAndDrink #USATravel
