Detroit's sexy drunk steakhouse 🫦
Not Clickbait – This Restaurant Is Actually Called “Sexy Steak” 🥩 The vibe here is immaculate—total upscale white-tablecloth spot for special occasions 🍴! Word on the street is their cocktails are amazing, but since I was here for a business trip, I played it safe and skipped the drinks. 📍 1942 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48226 🌟 Tuna Tartare Solid, but not mind-blowing. The yellowfin tuna is fresh (no fishy aftertaste at all!) and paired with avocado—classic combo that never fails. The side sauce has yuzu and sesame oil, which adds a nice subtle depth and elevates the whole dish. Light and fresh, perfect for starting the meal 🐟. 🌟 Wagyu Pastrami (See Photo 3) Such a unique appetizer! The beef is served with a special sauce—honey mustard mixed with black pepper and other seasonings—spicy, zesty, and totally addictive. The outside of the wagyu is seared, while the inside stays juicy and tender. Pro tip: cut it into small bites and savor slowly! I was starving when I took my first bite and found the crust a bit salty—smaller pieces balance that out perfectly 🥩. 🌟 Grilled Oysters Oysters grilled with butter, garlic, and Parmesan cheese 🧀—they’re bite-sized (one per mouthful!) and just the right size. They’re not the most “wow” dish I’ve ever had, but the flavor is still unique. The cheesy, garlicky goodness coats the oyster nicely—simple but satisfying 🦪. 🌟 Rib Eye Cap Apps were so filling I barely had room for my main, but I went with the 8oz rib eye cap cooked medium-rare. The meat is tender, juicy, and packed with beefy flavor—total classic American steak done right. (I heard) all their steaks are prime cuts aged for 29 days, and you can taste the quality. No fancy frills, just good steak 🥩✨. 🌟 Bone-In New York Strip Ordered this medium, which means it’s pretty much fully cooked (no pink left—RIP my love for juicy, rare meat 😂). It’s not as tender as the rib eye cap, but it’s still packed with rich, savory flavor. If you prefer a firmer texture and well-done steak, this is a solid pick. 🌟 Pasta Carbonara Spaghetti with pecorino cheese—meh, nothing special. It’s a basic carbonara, no twists or standout flavors. Felt like a standard “filler” dish to soak up sauce, but not worth ordering if you’re here for the good stuff. 🌟 Mushroom Truffle Risotto (See Photo 7) HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 🚨 This was a pleasant surprise—creamy, truffle-forward, and so flavorful. Best part? No undercooked, chalky rice (thank goodness!). It’s fully cooked but still has a slight bite, and the mushroom + truffle + cream combo is chef’s kiss. I kept going back for more—total highlight of the meal 🍄. Desserts Skip ‘em. Every dessert we tried got cloyingly sweet after two bites—no depth, just sugar overload. Save your stomach (and money) for the mains! A quick note: even without drinks, the bill was over $100 per person—definitely on the pricier side. I’m not sure who’d specifically travel to Detroit just to eat here, but this post is mostly just me documenting my meal. All opinions are my own—take ‘em with a grain of salt! #WesternFood #Detroit #DetroitTravel #DetroitFood #DetroitAreaFood #Steak #AmericanSteak #StudentEats #BestSteak #PrimeCutSteak #Foodie
