Detroit Science Center Special Exhibition

The Michigan Science Center has always been a place to get kids excited about science. Since the history museum was closed for an event, I decided to revisit my childhood here—and unexpectedly encountered the special exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci's Mechanical Playground"! 🎭 The exhibition brings to life over 40 interactive machines based on da Vinci’s original sketches, crafted by artisans using materials and techniques available during the Renaissance. Best of all—everything is touch-friendly and ready to play with! 🛠️✨ Highlights of the exhibition: 40+ interactive mechanical devices: Including flying machines, propeller-driven devices, robots, armored tanks, and more. Visitors can operate gears, pull levers, and experience the movements of da Vinci’s visionary inventions. Organized by the four classical elements: Earth: Cranes, presses, and even a humanoid robot to control. Water: Archimedes' screw, buoyancy experiments. Air: Gliders, parachutes, and flying machines. Fire: Armored tanks (multi-person!), and other machines designed for power and warfare. A must-visit for young (and young-at-heart) engineering enthusiasts! 🔧❤️ 📍Address: 5020 John R St, Detroit, MI 48202, USA 🎟️Ticket: $23 ⏰Opening Hours: Closed Mondays & Thursdays #UniversityOfMichiganAnnArbor #AnnArbor #LifeInTheUSA #MuseumExploration #PowerOfMuseums #ExhibitionRecommendation #MichiganState #Detroit #MichiganScienceCenter #DaVinci
