Didn’t Expect Such Authentic Sichuan Food in Portland!
New Sichuan Bistro “Chaotianmen” Check-In 📍 Heard there’s a new Chinese restaurant in Portland, but I also saw bad reviews online—honestly, I didn’t plan to go at first. But it’s super close to my place, so I thought, “Why not give it a shot? Worst case, I just won’t come back if I hate it!” That’s the mindset I had when I walked in 🍲 Turns out, it was surprisingly delicious 😋! It’s so authentic! The seasoning is just right—not too salty or bland, and it’s not that “watered-down modified version” with no flavor. It’s the kind of authentic, comforting taste that hits the spot. I ordered: Stir-Fried Pork Kidney & Liver: This was amazing! No fishy smell, not tough at all—total bliss for me, a huge offal lover 🐷! Boiled Spicy Fish: Huge portion! So tasty 🐟—we couldn’t even finish half of it at first. Taro Chicken: Super delicious ! The taro was soft, and the chicken was tender. Mixed Vegetables: This looked plain, but it was actually really good—like a “Chinese salad” 🥗! Plus Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cakes 🥞—every dish was great! The best part? The portions are massive. Three of us ate until we were stuffed, and still had leftovers to take home 😂 The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, which makes eating there so comfortable. I love restaurants with clean, warm color schemes—especially when dining, it puts me in a good mood ✨. Conclusion: Sometimes, don’t trust online reviews too much—you have to try the food yourself to know if it’s good. I went in with zero expectations, but now this will be my go-to spot often 🍻! #PortlandEats #PortlandChineseFood #SichuanCuisine #FoodRecommendation #MustTry
