Dinner in Ashland: Chinese Food… Meh. 🥢😐
Went to New China Restaurant here in Ashland — and honestly, I’m always a bit hesitant to try Chinese food in small American towns… 🏡✋ The dishes mostly looked the same — everything was covered in that dark, generic sauce 🙃. You know the one. The veggies were pretty limited too: broccoli, carrots, snow peas, celery… the usual stir-fry lineup, no matter what you order. 🥦🥕 On the bright side — several of the servers were young Asian Americans. Maybe second or third generation? 👨🍳👩💼 The best thing we had was the chow fun (stir-fried wide noodles). And surprise — we even got fortune cookies at the end! 🥠😂 The bill came to $164, and we left a $30 tip (total $194). Not exactly cheap for a small town! 💸 #SmallTownEats #ChineseFoodInUSA #AshlandWI #WisconsinDining #FoodReview #FortuneCookieVibes #AmericanizedChinese #TravelEats
