Update to a previous review: We had dinner here last night. It was busy but not overly so. Service was prompt and friendly as always. However, the food was horrible this time. We ordered two appetizers - fried pot stickers, which were excellent as usual. The crab rangoons, which contain no crab whatsoever, were not crispy and tasted strongly of deep-fry oil. Very disappointing. Our dinners came with the house chicken soup, which was fine. For the mains, my companion ordered sesame chicken which was overcooked, with broccoli that was nearly raw. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce - first time I'd ordered it here. This is traditionally a seafood dish with shrimp in a light sauce that includes pea pods, lobster meat, water chestnuts and egg (no red meat). I received a thick grey, gelatinous blob that appeared curdled due to the use of ground pork in it. The sauce was flavorless despite the menu stating that it is made with wine. The dish was literally 90% onions, exactly two pea pods and a scant few water chestnuts. Only 5 medium-sized shrimp in the dish. It looked like grey vomit on a plate. I asked the server why they are using ground pork in a dish that is usually meatless and she informed me that's just the way they make it, to add extra flavor. So they are using ground pork to flavor a dish cheaply rather than making it the right way -- the pork did nothing for the flavor and in fact made it look truly DISGUSTING. The server's brush-off attitude only made the matter worse. No offer of a different meal, and couldn't have cared less that I was unhappy with the entree. I picked the shrimp out of the dish, ate the two pea pods and water chestnuts, along with the rice, and threw the remainder of a $16 dish away. Really, REALLY disappointing. If it weren't for the pot stickers, soup and rice, we would have left hungry, after spending over $50. We will not be returning to this...
Read moreWe went to this place a couple of times when we were in the Bayfield area. We had a mixed experience. Their food is quite delicious and flavorful. They added plenty of vegetables in their curries and noodles that we ordered. However, what left a sour taste at the end was all the nickel-diming on their end. They could even beat Spirit Airlines on that. We had to pay extra to add babu corn, to add tofu, and even to order vegetarian. On top of that, the quantity of rice they offer won’t even satisfy a hummingbird. Thus, we had to pay extra just to get enough rice. Overall we paid for two meals per meal. The man at the front desk was also quite rude. If this is tolerable, you can go to this place as you won’t be disappointed...
Read moreCame here for take out. Food was made quickly and piping hot. We got a bowl of the house soup, a very good clear broth soup with some chicken and green onions. Delicious and warmed me up on a very cold Wisconsin night. We also got General Tso's chicken. If you like General Tso's chicken then you will like this one. I will say they give you a very nice portion of broccoli with it which I appreciated, which you don't get at every Chinese restaurant. Last but not least was the Singapore noodles. Good curry flavor with lots of protein (shrimp, pork, ham, egg) and veggies. I will say that this one actually had some nice spice to it. Portions for all of the dishes were very large....
