Discovered a Japanese Bakery That Only Opens 3 Days a Week 🍞
After moving, I realized just how many interesting little shops are quietly tucked away in the neighborhood. Recently, the biggest surprise has been a new Japanese bakery right on the corner—only a five-minute walk away. The first time I passed by, I really wanted to go in, only to find out they're only open three days a week 😮! Even when they're closed, you can still see through the large glass window several bakers inside kneading dough, shaping loaves, and baking bread 👨🍳. The shop is small, the lighting is warm, and it really feels like a cozy, family-run Japanese workshop 💡. On their next open day, I rushed over and bought five or six different items—every single one was so good, I couldn't help but nod in delight 👍! I especially love their savory breads. At most American bakeries, besides cheese croissants 🧀, it’s hard to find savory bread options, but here they have a great variety, all seasoned just right—restrained yet satisfying 😋. Highly recommend the curry bread! I’m not sure how they do it, but it has a slightly crisp exterior, a fluffy and airy inside that feels springy when you bite into it, and the curry filling is fragrant but not greasy 🍛. Quietly hoping: maybe once they get more popular, they can extend their hours 🙏 📍 Komugi Bakery (Check their opening hours before you go—wouldn’t want you to make a trip for nothing!) #Boston #JapaneseBakery #ArtisanBread #HiddenGemDiscovery #BostonFood #DailyLife
