Discovered Another Thai Restaurant in DC That Rivals Sura 🍛🥘
Thai cuisine in DC is pretty much the same few places, and they’ve been hyped to death on social media. I found Sura in DuPont to be quite good, but it’s more of an Asian fusion place. This new discovery next to the zoo is more of a traditional Thai experience. For drinks, I had a lychee-flavored sweet wine, which was a bit too sweet for my taste 🍹 The papaya salad was a classic green papaya salad, quite refreshing and perfect for cutting through the richness of other dishes 🥬 The Donsak noodle is a must-try, a hearty dish with a mix of seafood and wide rice noodles, stir-fried to perfection with a wok hei aroma that hits you as it’s served. It was a bit salty by the end, though 🍜 The crab fried rice was also pretty good, with each grain distinct and full of crab flavor 🦀 The grilled chicken, however, wasn’t as special, but the texture of the chicken was still very good, not dry at all 🍗 Recommend making a reservation in advance, but the staff seemed a bit out of it. We called to make a reservation, but they didn’t reserve a spot for us, so we had to sit outside.Luckily, we were all dressed warmly and the wind wasn’t too strong that day. #dc #ThaiCuisine #DMV #WashingtonDC #WashingtonDCFood #dmvfoodie #dmvfood #dmvfoodandfun #dmvweekend #weekendfood
