DMV: Shenandoah National Park 🍂⛰️

Late October in Shenandoah hasn’t hit peak fall colors yet, but driving along Skyline Drive still offers beautiful views of the changing leaves 🚗🍁. My friends and I only planned a one-day trip. After checking with the visitor center, we picked two trails to explore: 1️⃣ A trail along the way up the mountain—the entrance wasn’t very obvious, but it’s quite popular! A small stream and waterfall run alongside it 💦. Probably even more stunning during the wet season. 2️⃣ A trail near the highest point, Skyland—this is probably the most well-known route. It’s not too long, and at the end you get a 360-degree view of the mountain ranges 🏞️. The mix of green and golden leaves during the early autumn transition was absolutely picturesque—like a painting 🎨. Highly recommend this one! 🐕 Dogs are allowed in the park, but many trails are narrow and some run along steep edges. There are signs warning that it’s not recommended to bring dogs 🚧🐾. But overall, it’s pretty flexible. 👍 Great for a one or two-day getaway if you live in the DMV area. Near Shenandoah, there’s also the famous Luray Caverns 🕳️💎—worth adding if you’re staying longer! #DMVWeekend #WashingtonDC #ShenandoahNationalPark #SkylineDrive #Hiking #FallFoliage #VirginiaTrails #NatureLovers #DayTrip #PeakViews #DogFriendly #ExploreVA #AutumnVibes #ScenicDrive #OutdoorAdventure #TravelDMV #ParkLife #Wanderlust
