š“ For the third course, we had lemon shrimp, sea bass, and smoked lamb shoulder. The shrimp was quite a letdown; it was only sour without any other flavors, and I couldnāt taste the freshness of the shrimp at all. The sea bass was also disappointing. Maybe itās because I have such a deep impression of Chinese-style sea bass, which led to a fixed idea of what sea bass should taste like. This one was just slightly seared; perhaps thatās their style. šThe accompanying sauce looked nice and tasted good too. But I didnāt quite get how it was supposed to complement the dish. I thought the sauce itself was delicious, with anise, almond, and caper foam. I tried dipping the fish in it, but it didnāt enhance the flavor. šI ended up dipping the sea bass in the lemon shrimp sauce, and it was actually quite tasty. I hope I didnāt offend anyone by doing that. The smoked lamb shoulder was the second-to-last meat dish on the menu. It mainly consisted of smoked lamb shoulder meat, which I didnāt like either ā it was just a small meat patty cut in half. šThe flavors were quite perplexing. Itās not that I dislike the taste of lamb, but this was very coarse. Maybe I was just getting full at this point. š¤£š¤£ We ordered a lot because we heard that the portions were small. š“ Yes, and then there was one more round. We ordered two desserts: a bone marrow cake which wasnāt good, and I didnāt like it for the same reasons as the lamb patty. For dessert, we had Greek yogurt and apricot š¤£š¤£, and the Turkish coffee chocolate cake. The yogurt was nice with a rich texture, and the crushed pistachios were the perfect touch. The coffee chocolate cake was okay, but I couldnāt taste the coffee flavor. We also had three glasses of wine, and with the tip, the total came to a little over $293. Wow, thatās more expensive than our chefās special meal. The experience was alright; next time, I might try the salmon, and Iāll have to think carefully about the meats. š¤£š¤£ #USA #FoodExploration #Food #MediterraneanDiet #WeightLoss #DMV #Washington
