DMV Dining Adventure | Hidden French Corner in Alexandria
This weekend is Restaurant Week in Alexandria, Virginia, and several restaurants are participating—perfect for some culinary exploration. I checked out Bastille Brasserie & Bar, which is a bit farther from the waterfront and not in the best location, but it’s doing really well! It’s clear they’ve built their reputation on their food 😆. The interior is also quite charming! 🍽️ During Restaurant Week, they’re offering a 3-course meal for $40 or $50—one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert. The portions are incredibly generous! I’ve never been to a French restaurant with such hearty servings 😆. Even if you have a big appetite, you’ll definitely leave satisfied! The escargot appetizer was delicious, and there was also a salad that was really tasty. For the main course, the scallops were amazing, and I forgot to take a photo of the Anges steak. The waiter recommended the lamb shoulder, which wasn’t on the menu but was a seasonal dish the chef was preparing. It looked great on the neighboring table. For dessert, the chocolate lava cake with tangy ice cream was fantastic! I wouldn’t recommend the cheese platter, though—it was a bit hard and not as good as the cheese I usually enjoy. There was also an ice cream dessert that the table next to us ordered, and it looked really good. Definitely worth a try! 🍽️ Bastille Brasserie & Bar #dmv #dmvdining #dmvfoodie #alexandria #restaurantweek #frenchcuisine #ambiance #escargot #scallop #steak
