DMV Italian Food So Good It Made Me Cry! 🇮🇹😭

Last night, I saw a picture of cannoli before bed and couldn’t stop craving it… so this morning, I spontaneously drove half an hour to Alexandria’s Old Town to try this Italian spot! 🚗💨 Appetizers 🍞 Grilled Rustic Garlic Toast ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rustic bread toasted with butter—so fragrant on the first bite! 🧄🍞 Roasted garlic with rosemary and balsamic olive oil—crispy and flavorful! Mia’s Signature Meatball Benedict ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfectly poached eggs 🥚, non-greasy meatballs, but the hollandaise got a bit lost in the tomato sauce. Still, it made an amazing dip for the bread! 😋👌 Mains 🍝 Jumbo Shrimp Fra Diavola ⭐️⭐️ Okay, I noticed something—their tomato sauce is outstanding! Ended up using it as a dip again lol 🤣 But the pasta and shrimp were just meh… nothing special. Funghi and Tartufo Pizza ⭐️⭐️️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HOLY MOLY, this was INCREDIBLE! 🙌🔥 Fermented crust packed with flavor, wood-fired to a perfect char… The mushrooms were juicy, and with the salty mozzarella? A heavenly combo! The cheese pull was everything 🧀💥 One bite, and I knew I’d be coming back again and again! Portions are reasonable—we easily finished the pizza after all those appetizers! Desserts 🍧 Affogato ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hard to mess this one up, right? Rich espresso poured over vanilla gelato… It disappeared so fast, I didn’t even get a photo! 📸🚫 My mom, who doesn’t even like sweets, finished two-thirds of it in two bites! Cannoli ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crispy shell, light filling, and the chocolate chips balanced the cream perfectly! A solid treat 🥰 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 Final Thoughts 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 I’m DEFINITELY coming back! Their weekend brunch pizza is a must-try—gonna sample more flavors next time!
