DMV Restaurant Review | Bilt Credit Card Community Event – Surreal 💳
I used my Bilt credit card points to redeem their monthly Neighborhood Dining experience on the 1st! 🗓️ Surreal is a newly opened South American fusion restaurant near my place, part of the DC-based Seven Reasons Group. 🌿 The reservation started at 7:30 PM. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere – fresh and natural with wooden and vine accents. The tiled tables and overall layout are quite unique. It’s located near Amazon HQ2’s park ⛲, perfect for a post-walk meal. We told the host we were there for the Bilt event and received a fixed three-course menu with two options per category: 💚 Starter – Beef tartare or fried squid 🦑… I went with the fried squid – crispy, generously portioned, and served with two sauces: one tangy tomato, the other creamy and eggy. My friend chose the beef tartare; she loved the crispy chips but wasn’t used to the seasoning on the beef. 💚 Main Course – Mushroom pasta 🍄🟫 or pan-seared salmon with passion fruit-glazed pork ribs… We picked the salmon. The fish was tender and flaky with a crispy skin, though the side of three types of potatoes felt a bit simple. 🥔 💚 Dessert – Vanilla ice cream 🍦 or cookies… We went with the ice cream – a rich soft-serve mixed with candied orange peel and crushed pistachios. Served with a blood orange sauce that was uniquely delicious! 🍊 💚 Overall, a great dining experience! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Since it was a Bilt event, there was no check to pay at the end – guess the points covered it all! 💫 It’s also DC Restaurant Week now, and Bilt’s menu looks quite similar.
