DTLA Omakase — Three Recent Picks 🍣✨

1️⃣ Q / Q Restaurant / Q Sushi 📍 521 W 7th St, Los Angeles Found this Michelin‑starred spot while booking Providence on OpenTable — the name intrigued me! Both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. The sashimi was outstanding — ingredients are flown in daily from Japan’s Toyosu Market, incredibly fresh and delicate. White fish especially shined. Chef Hiro is known for his rice, but in the nigiri, the rice didn’t stand out — nigiri was good but not remarkable. He leans toward saucy preparations (a bit heavy for my taste). Even my usually sashimi‑averse boyfriend was impressed! Will definitely return. 📅 Booking: OpenTable (lunch & dinner at 6 PM / 8:15 PM, max 8 guests). 🅿️ Parking: No dedicated lot — plenty of garages nearby. 💰 Price: ~$400+ per person (dinner, post‑COVID price increases). 2️⃣ Shibumi Another Michelin‑starred spot, but very different. The flavors are refined — the tofu is subtly sweet and pure, reminiscent of what I had near Mount Fuji. Rice is fragrant and lightly sweet, served hot from a stone pot. However, the base omakase is vegetarian‑focused — meat is an add‑on. Portions are small; I only felt full after the Wagyu and rice. Great for vegetarian lovers, but not ideal for heavy meat‑eaters like me. Also, it’s more of a bar vibe than fine dining — can get loud, not the best for a quiet date. 📅 Booking: Tock (easy to reserve). 🅿️ Parking: Adjacent lot with validation. 💰 Price: ~$200+ per person (we chose the top tier; base starts at $95). 3️⃣ Sushi Enya Multiple locations — we went to Little Tokyo. A solid, no‑surprises spot. The chu‑toro and o‑toro were excellent (available à la carte — recommended!). No dessert included, which was a bit disappointing. 📅 Booking: OpenTable (walk‑in usually fine). 🅿️ Parking: Street or lots in Little Tokyo. #LAOmakase #DTLAEats #MichelinLA #Sushi #JapaneseFood 🍱🎌💫
