Most flavorful soups I’ve ever tasted. Everything tastes fresh, carefully prepared, and works perfectly together within each dish. We especially loved the black and yellow shiba soups, but you can’t go wrong with anything! The yellow shiba curry broth was wonderfully seasoned and spicy, just thick enough, and bursting with flavor; I normally tire of thicker broths after a while but got through the whole bowl without issue. This is easily the best choice for a more adventurous and hearty tasting soup. Our personal favorite, however, was the black shiba; the garlic flavor was just prominent enough to be delicious but not overpowering, and the seasoning was excellently balanced between light and flavorful, with hints of a traditional, woody flavor that I’ve never tasted in soup before. We also greatly enjoyed the teriyaki chicken, which was very tender and flavorful… the appetizers were traditional and cooked well too! The restaurant itself is atmospherically nice and wasn’t too packed, and we enjoyed the music and vibes. Service was incredibly fast and our waiter was helpful and efficient. Overall, this is our top spot in the area and worth every penny!

Let's start with the good. The aesthetic/theme is neat, the ramen was fantastic. But the place was incredibly warm, with no airflow so you're sitting in stagnant hot air (see pics for thermostat). And what heightened that was the service was at a glacial pace. Our 'should be about 10 minutes' turned into 10 minutes before receiving any water to drink. And another 10 minutes before the food. Again, the food was great, no complaints whatsoever on that end. The place isn't clean. You don't even have to look with a scrutinous eye either. Cans underneath the ice maker, a dirty cleaning rag underneath a table, caked on dust that shows that the floors aren't being diligently mopped. In summation, for me the cool aesthetic and good food don't make up for other faults to make it a repeat visit. Edit: More things I forgot to add but left in my notes. This place has a "C" health rating. Do with that what you will. And finally, there's clear review manipulation happening. Every table has a sign saying a review will get you free stuff, can't recall if it was a drink or dessert.

A NEW MUST TRY FOR SAN DIEGO RAMEN LOVERS šŸ˜ šŸœ right by the beach! ā›±ļø I've tried about 15 different ramen spots in SD and this joint just gained a new regular 🤤 I tried the DEMON SHIBU šŸ‘¹ cause I think im addicted to all things spicy. I love a good spicy creamy miso broth and this one was described as "ghost pepper infused black garlic ramen" and who doesn't love garlic?! I'd like to think I can handle a very high spice level, I prefer my ramen having me sweat over the bowl and questioning my life choices šŸ˜… and this broth did just that, it was so good I asked to order a side of broth to-go just to drink it at home šŸ˜‹ Also ordered the pork gyoza, golden crispy dipped in chili oil a great classic ramen appetizer. I just wish they had edamame too! Service was great and the sever looked dope, I wanted to steal his outfit 🤫 super cute atmosphere and a funny surprise at the bottom of each bowl šŸ• 10/10 Recommend šŸ”„

Oi Shiba is an absolute gem in Pacific Beach! We stopped in for dinner and were blown away by both the food and the service.

We ordered the Red Shiba Ramen, White Shiba Ramen, and a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl — and every single dish was excellent. The ramen broths were rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Red Shiba had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the depth of the broth, while the White Shiba was creamy, savory, and incredibly satisfying. The Teriyaki Chicken Bowl was a hit as well — tender chicken with a perfectly sweet and savory glaze, served over fluffy rice.

What made the experience even better was our server, Eugene. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Eugene’s recommendations were spot on, and his warm, welcoming attitude made us feel right at home.

If you’re in PB and craving ramen, Oi Shiba is the place to go. Great food, great vibe, and outstanding service — especially from Eugene. We’ll...
