DuPont Circle’s French Gem, Le Sel
🌟The restaurant is quite new, located inside a hotel with a nice and fresh ambiance. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas are beautifully arranged. The menu doesn’t offer a wide selection, and the portion sizes are relatively small. Compared to Brasserie Liberté in Georgetown, the portions might not be as filling, but the flavors are relatively lighter. 🌟🌟This place doesn’t serve complimentary bread; it seems you need to order it separately. For the appetizer, we had the baked escargot 🐌 with garlic butter. It was quite aromatic and not too salty; the escargot was tender. For the main course, we ordered MUSSELS MARINIERE, which came with fries. The flavor was on the mild side, a dish that’s hard to mess up, but it didn’t leave a particularly memorable impression. 🌟🌟🌟We also tried a chicken (or was it duck leg… I can’t remember) that was recommended by the waiter, stewed with pork belly. I’m not sure if it’s still on the new menu. The dish looked and tasted similar to braised pork belly, even including spices like bay leaves, yet it retained the essence of red wine braising. Overall, the flavor was quite strong, with a rich, savory sauce. #dmv #DMVFoodAndFun #dmvFoodExploration #dc #dateNightRestaurantRecommendations #dinner #dmvFood #DMVArea #FrenchCuisine
