East Seattle Brunch | The Screaming Parrots 🦜☀️
Tried a new spot during the break, but it was a bit of a letdown. Here’s the lowdown in order of arrival: Strawberry Banana Soufflé Pancake 🍓🍌 Not like any I’ve had before. Super fluffy and airy, but felt undercooked—the texture was oddly gritty. Looked almost glossy inside, like egg whites weren’t fully set… 😬 (Came in just 5 minutes… too fast?) Single Bush Tea 🍵 Fragrant and refreshing, good for cutting through greasiness. (But why did a simple cup of tea take 30 minutes?) Pu'er Milk Tea 🧋 Tasty! Better than the Pu'er at Dyam. (Also took half an hour… ⏳) Shakshuka Crêpe 🍅🍳 The star of the show! Savory North African-style eggs with tomato and cheese—hard to go wrong. The crêpe itself tasted like a multigrain jianbing. 👍 (Took 40 minutes though…) Crème Brûlée Crêpe 🍌🔥 Hmmmm… The custard had a weird chalky texture—not sure if the starch wasn’t sifted? My friend described it as “sweetened cornstarch paste with sugar” 💀 The banana and whipped cream underneath were okay, and the crêpe itself was fine. Very filling… and quickly became too rich. (This one took almost 50 minutes! 🕦) I had high hopes since both crêpes and soufflé pancakes are my favorites… but this new spot didn’t deliver. 😔 Where in Seattle can you actually get GOOD versions of these??? #SeattleBrunch #SeattleEats #EastSeattle #SeattleFoodReview #SeattleLife #BrunchFail
