Enjoy the Most Beautiful Nile River: A Solo Travel Route Guide

Spent three days in Aswan β€” here’s a solo-friendly itinerary πŸ‘‡ Recommend using inDrive motorcycles 🏍️ and public minibuses 🚐 β€” cheap and convenient! πŸŒ… Nile River Sunset Three recommended sunset viewpoints where you can capture the river, feluccas, islands, and the Nile in one frame πŸ“Έ. 🏝️ Elephantine Island πŸ“ Take a public ferry from Elephantine Island Ferry (South) β€” 10 EGP (Β₯1.5) one way. Ferries run 24/7 ⛴️, takes 10 mins. Return ferries depart from two piers: Ferry Boat Harbour or Ferry Pier Elephantine Island. The island features Nubian villages and ancient sites like the Temple of Khnum and Aswan Museum πŸ›οΈ. You can explore most of the island on foot in about an hour πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ. Not recommended to stay or eat here β€” meals cost around Β₯50, and it’s very quiet. A short visit is enough! πŸ›• Philae Temple The temple is on Philae Island β€” boat touts often overcharge, so I chose to view it from afar πŸ˜…. With a 300mm lens, you can capture the full temple from the pier! Cheap ways to reach the pier: Take a motorbike 🏍️ (40 EGP) Or a minibus 🚐 (5 EGP) to Nile Museum Climb the hill on the right, follow the village path, and navigate to Wanas Kato β€” you’ll see the pier on the left and the Aswan Dam on the right. 🎨 Nubian Village Aswan has several Nubian villages β€” this one is famous for its bright murals and colorful houses 🎨🏠. It’s quite commercialized with souvenir shops selling colorful hats and wooden masks. Worth a quick visit, but not a must-see. πŸ“ Start at Zooka Pizza and end at Makani Cafe β€” takes about 30 mins to explore. On the way, stop by JAREEDY CAFE for beautiful riverside views β˜•πŸŒŠ. πŸ’§ Aswan Dam The bridge near Philae Temple is part of the dam. Soldiers guard both sides β€” you’re not allowed to get out of the vehicle while crossing 🚧. πŸ›• Abu Simbel Temple Located 280 km south of Aswan β€” near the Sudanese border! Round-trip travel takes about 8 hours πŸš—. Check my next post for detailed public minibus/bus routes and tips! πŸ“ #AswanTravel #NileRiver #SoloTravel #EgyptOnABudget #NubianVillage #PhilaeTemple #AbuSimbel #TravelEgypt 🌍✨
