Eureka Springs, Arkansas
We traveled to Arkansas from Oklahoma! 🚗 1️⃣ On the first day, we visited the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Admission to the museum is free, but special exhibitions require an additional fee 🆓. There are exhibits both indoors and outdoors, focusing mainly on modern and contemporary art 🎨. The building itself has a unique and striking design from the outside 🏛️. We stayed in Eureka Springs for the night 🏨. 2️⃣ The next morning, we headed to the White River for boating at 10 AM. At first, I thought it would be white-water rafting, but it turned out to be a 4.5-hour boating trip instead 🛶. The first hour was okay, but later on, it got so hot and tiring 😩! The other two groups of tourists were in kayaks and left us far behind 🚣♂️. There was almost no current the entire time—the water was extremely calm, and we even had to fight against headwinds. We basically had to paddle by ourselves the whole way. Unless you’re a total boating enthusiast, there’s no need to spend so long out in the scorching sun. My arms got sunburned by the end 😖. In the evening, we wandered around Eureka Springs Downtown. Since we arrived pretty late, many shops were already closed. We did get to visit two natural springs though 💧. 3️⃣ On the third day, we first went to Thorncrown Chapel. The chapel has a very distinctive design—simple yet elegant ✨. On our way back to Oklahoma, we stopped at the Blue Spring Heritage Center, which requires an entrance fee 🎫. It’s a small garden with wooden boardwalks built around a spring, but it was just so-so overall 😐. Since I was already exhausted before this trip, we didn’t go hiking. Besides, it’s way too hot in summer—activities with shade are definitely more suitable for this season 🌞! #ArkansasTravel #EurekaSprings #CrystalBridgesMuseum #WhiteRiverBoating #SummerGetaway
