Everything You Need in One Post
‼️I just dug through my photo album and realized I never sorted out the pics from my Thanksgiving trip to Houston—so I’m sharing this guide stat! If you’re planning a laid-back 3-day, 2-night getaway to Houston that balances fun sightseeing and delicious eats, this post is exactly what you need. 🏛️ First, the Must-Visit Spots (No Rush, Just Good Vibes) Galveston BeachHouston is a coastal city—don’t skip this beach if you love the ocean! The sand and water are immaculately clean, and the crowds are surprisingly thin, so you can soak in the unobstructed view of the sea meeting the sky in pure tranquility. Pack some snacks, snap photos by the shore, and chat with friends—an afternoon flies by here. After sunset, drive back to downtown for dinner (the timing is perfect). Chapel of St. BasilThis architecturally unique church is an Instagram-worthy gem. Its half-curtain entrance gives it a dreamy, minimalist vibe—you have to stop for photos here. It’s one of Houston’s most iconic “hidden” spots for a reason! The Galleria Mall + WaterwallTexas’ largest mall (and the 7th biggest in the US) has everything: luxury brands (dozens of them!), an ice rink, restaurants, and entertainment. I could easily spend two days browsing here (pro tip: plan your time wisely!). Right next door (within walking distance) is the famous Waterwall—a popular spot for photos, so bring your camera and strike a pose 📷. Note: I skipped the Hindu temple and Japanese garden since Dallas has similar spots! 🍲 Then, the Food (For Chinese Food Lovers Only) Houston’s Chinese food scene is unbeatable—my brother and I basically came here to treat our taste buds, and we were not disappointed. Malubianbian (Roadside Skewers)I used to eat this chain all the time in China, so I had to visit the Houston location! It’s $28.99 for all-you-can-eat skewers, plus snacks, hot pot ingredients, and even bullfrog (my favorite!). To top it off, soft-serve ice cream and cotton candy are unlimited—such a steal! Hong Kong’s CafeDallas has zero good Hong Kong-style cafes, so I was dying for a HK-style milk tea. Their pork chop baked rice was also on point—total comfort food. Ocean Palace (Treasure Seafood Restaurant)A classic dim sum spot, but be warned: the lines are long. The food was solid, but next time I’m trying Fung’s Kitchen—I’ve heard it’s way better! Uncle Liu’s Food CartAuthentic Tianjin-style jianbing (Chinese crepe)—the perfect quick, tasty breakfast. No frills, just classic flavor. Ziwei Chengdu (Chengdu Flavors)A long-standing Sichuan restaurant with solid spicy dishes. If you’re a fan of numbing, fiery flavors, this is your go-to spot. 🧋 Bonus: Bubble Tea Finds Houston has tons of boba shops— I tried two that Dallas doesn’t have: Xingfutang (Happy Hall): Consistent, creamy drinks (their brown sugar boba is a winner). Chayan Guanse (Tea Face View): Personally, I thought it was underwhelming—prefer Ben Gong’s Tea instead! 📢 Shoutout to Houston Locals If you have more hidden gems for food or fun, drop them in the comments! I’ll definitely hit them up on my next trip. Would you like me to turn this into a printable 3-day Houston itinerary with exact meal and activity timings for your trip? #US #Texas #Houston
