Experiencing a Feast for the Senses at the Ancient Greek Theater

💕Tonight, I indulged in a spectacular performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony by the Athens National Symphony Orchestra at the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, and my emotions are still deeply stirred~~ 💕Every June and July, a variety of performances are held here. This year’s schedule for the theater can be seen in image 18. We booked this performance a few weeks in advance through the official website (https://aefestival.gr/?lang=en). 💕Everyone is familiar with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, especially its fourth movement, the “Ode to Joy.” The live choir was incredibly impactful!! The lighting also changes with different movements during the performance. 💕Each performance starts at 9:00 pm, and you can start entering the venue around 8:10. If you arrive early, you’ll have time and space to take some photos because once the performance starts, no photography is allowed❌ The performance lasts for over an hour, and everyone is super quiet and attentive, with basically a full house. 💕In Athens during June and July, the daytime temperature is extremely high, but in the evening, the cool breeze is refreshing. Before the performance starts, the sun begins to set, and the sound of cicadas fills the air. When all the performers arrive, the entire venue is filled with a sense of solemnity. 💕Worth mentioning is that the entire street leading to the ancient theater is filled with many talented artists performing. It’s nice to walk there slowly; after the performance, it’s highly recommended to grab a late-night snack at a nearby restaurant, have a drink, and savor the experience~~~ #AthensTravelGuide #AncientTheater #Symphony #Beethoven #TravelRecommendations
