🌊 Explore the Best Coastal Getaway in Texas: Corpus Christi 🚗💨

Corpus Christi is my top choice for a short road trip — and it’s absolutely kid-friendly too! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Just a 3-hour drive from Houston. 🏖️ What to Do in Corpus Christi: 🌊 Whitecap Beach A long stretch of coastline where you can drive right onto the sand 🚙💨 (fee: $12). I didn’t have high hopes for Texas beaches, but this one was a pleasant surprise! The waves are gentle — perfect for little ones 👶🌊. Tip: Bring folding chairs and a beach umbrella ☀️⛱️. ⚓ USS Lexington The most famous attraction in Corpus Christi 🛳️✨! This massive aircraft carrier offers a fascinating look into WWII naval life — including restored aircraft and living quarters 🛏️✈️. A must-see for history and military lovers! Note: Wear comfortable shoes — the stairs are narrow and it’s quite a workout 🥾💦. They even have an escape room inside 🧩🔐! 🐬 Texas State Aquarium Located right next to the USS Lexington 🐠🤝. It’s the largest aquarium in Texas — don’t miss the dolphin shows (twice daily)! 🐬⏰ Allow about 3 hours for your visit. Pro tip: Book tickets online in advance 🎟️📲. 🏝️ Padre Island National Seashore We skipped it this time since it’s farther than Whitecap, but the water is clearer here 💧👀. In summer, you can even see baby sea turtles released into the ocean 🐢🌅! Definitely on our list for next time. If you just want beautiful beaches and clearer water — South Padre Island is also a great option! 🏖️💙 🎟️ Quick question for the group: For those traveling to the U.S. on a tourist visa from China — is a round-trip ticket required?
