Exploring Columbus, OhioโJust the Cost of Parking, Gas & Coffee ๐ธโ๏ธ
Parked behind the visitor center ๐๐จ Walked straight to the river and strolled along the riverside park all the way to Scioto Mile ๐๐ถโโ๏ธ Passed by the โWorldโs Largest Gravelโ (yep, itโs a thing ๐), crossed a block, and reached the Ohio Statehouse ๐๏ธ The Statehouse is open to the public for free! Saw a group of parents with kids heading into a hearing room โ decided to join ๐ We even said hi to a mom and her kid sitting next to usโฆ After a while, noticed neatly arranged gift bags on the front table ๐โฆ Turns out it was โTake Your Child to Work Dayโ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ผ We made a quiet exitโฆ lol Headed to the second floor โ the Senate Room was completely empty ๐คซ Took a break in the main hallโฆ and ran into the same parent group again on their way out! On the walk back to the car, we passed through City Hall and crossed the railroad that cuts through downtown ๐ Also spotted the last remaining traces of Union Station ๐ Drove over to Ohio State University ๐ and parked near the library Itโs graduation season โ saw people taking photos everywhere! Even spotted some Chinese philosophy books and old newspaper collections in the library ๐โจ Flipped through a Ming Pao daily from 1993 โ what a throwback! ๐๏ธ๐จ๐ณ #Columbus #FreeThingsToDo #OhioStatehouse #OSU #UrbanExploring #WalkableCities
