Fall in Washington D.C. Part 2 📖🌙
For Part 1, see previous post. 📍 Planet Word This is my most highly recommended museum from this trip—I spent a full hour in the second-floor "The Library" exhibition. It’s a warm, dreamy wooden library space surrounded by built-in bookshelves. When you open or pick up a book and place it on the sensing platform, the pages come to life with projected animations. The special effects are exquisitely crafted—each book feels like a mini movie 🎬, offering an immersive experience of how literary classics are dramatized. Their gift shop, though small, is delightful to browse. I saw a Les Misérables-themed necklace, New Yorker fridge magnets, Matilda bookmarks, and Wicked felt pins—all sorts of merchandise related to authors and literary works. Whether you're into literature, language, or musicals, you’ll find little surprises here. 📍 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library When you’re tired from museum-hopping, come to the MLK Library to read or relax. The spiral staircase is beautifully designed, and the city skyline view from the corner at dusk is absolutely stunning 🌆. Besides these spots, I also visited the Museum of American Art (quite small and not really worth it, though it has a nice floor-to-ceiling window) and the House of the People (skimmed through, nothing memorable). DC in autumn is perfect for city walks—wide streets, blue skies, red leaves 🍁, and gleaming glass facades create a refreshing and uplifting atmosphere. All in all, it was a fulfilling trip despite minor regrets, and I’ll save the unseen sights for next time 😃. Next up: a food guide. Thanks for reading (bows). #DC #Washington #Travel #LiteraryLandmarks #FragmentsOfLife #WanderAndPause #Museums #Libraries #PowerOfWords #Guide
