Finally, we drove to Yellowknife "City".

🍎Yes, it’s upgraded—it’s not Yellowknife Town anymore, LOL. 🍁 🦀🦀Even though most Chinese sources online refer to it as a "town," its official designation is Yellowknife City. 🐵 👉👈With a population of over 10,000, along with urban administrative regions and management authority, it also serves as a key hub for communication with the Dene and Cree Indigenous peoples in the north. 😍😍 🌹So… xDD Let’s set the record straight!😻 When we first arrived in this new city, the brightest spot my friend Fengli and I noticed was a supermarket parking lot. 🦎 So… we decided to check it out!💗💗 It was our first time seeing the COOP chain of supermarkets.🤥 🙉At first, we thought it was unique to Yellowknife. But a quick check surprised us—Europe is actually COOP’s main market, with thousands of locations worldwide (and they usually have a Coop Gas Station nearby).🌿🌿 It’s an international chain with annual revenue in the billions of USD.🍢🍟 Operating on a cooperative model, it partners with local communities and members, ⚠️emphasizing the idea of "taking from the people, giving back to the people." 🐲 The prices aren’t particularly cheap, but the products are all fresh. 💖 👊Each store also has a community board where locals can post about events. There’s a great selection of fresh fish🐟 and beef here. 🌥️Oh, and some pretty unusual ingredients too, like lamb spleen and other odd offal—hahahaha! Oh right, Fengli even found a Pikachu here… How could it not be weird? xD ☔☔   You’ll see these cute little lighthouses all around Yellowknife. Basically, they’re telling you:🎊 - Red = Strong aurora❣️ - Green = Possible aurora❣️ - Blue = Aurora is on vacation ❣️ All the lighthouses are controlled by a signal tower on Franklin Avenue. 👍👍 They’re officially called "community space weather beacons," but from what I gather, funding comes from three sources: the tourism department, Yellowknife’s community council, and the education department. 🍔🍔 Supposedly, they’re meant to attract tourists… Hmm.🌻🏵️ I chatted with some local residents—high school teachers, pastry chefs, taxi drivers, etc.—and their take was pretty much the same: “Dude, if you want to know if there’s an aurora, just look up! 🐼 xDD If the aurora’s really active, you’ll see it even in the city. This project is just __________.”🌈🌈 No surprises there—every province and city has its own version of this.🍰 But honestly, as tourists, we still got a kick out of these little cuties! xDD🌹  We wandered over to Bush Pilots Monument, a spot every tourist visits.👣👣 It was originally a water tower but was later ✨✨turned into a sightseeing attraction. From here, you get a clear view of Yellowknife’s new and old towns, Great Slave Lake, Back Bay, and more.🕊️🕊️ The scenery here is absolutely stunning!🥀🥀 #Yellowknife #Aurora #Lighthouse #Nightview
