🍱 Finally Had All-You-Can-Eat Sushi in Columbus!

Lately I kept seeing this place called Tokyo Grill, so today I finally went to check it out! The restaurant is in Polaris — nice area. Staff seemed to be Chinese, with bilingual signs at the entrance, and servers spoke Chinese.👍😘 It’s an AYCE teppanyaki + sushi buffet. The teppanyaki part felt weaker compared to bd’s — fewer options, sauces not self-serve, scallops were tiny. But it’s nice that you don’t have to wait around — they bring the cooked food to you. Sashimi section — okay, I guess. I took many plates but each had just a tiny bit. I can’t tell if the fish was bad, but it didn’t taste great either. Maybe because it’s buffet style and left out too long, some items got dry (like octopus slices). The salmon was good, but got too rich when I was almost full. Their wasabi was pretty spicy though! Miso soup was tasty — first time I realized they add the ingredients when serving 😄. Fried foods & small dishes — about half the fried items weren’t crispy. The other half were crispy, but the shrimp tempura tasted starchy. Cheese scallops and mussels were fragrant, but the “scallop” meat seemed like imitation crab stick 🦀. Fried tofu was average, grilled salmon was good, green beans were fresh and refreshing. Nigiri and rolls — nothing special, but decent for a buffet. One spicy roll was actually pretty hot and tasty! Not a big roll person, but they were okay. Desserts — didn’t take pics, but I tried 5–6 kinds — none stood out. Typical buffet dessert level.😊❤️ Side note: Service could be better. Our table was near where servers like to stand and chat, so several were just talking nearby the whole time — made me uncomfortable. Also, some were too aggressive clearing plates even when I was still eating! Overall, good value for AYCE sushi — great when you’re craving it. Two people, weekend dinner after tax & tip: $64. #USA #Ohio #Columbus #ColumbusEats #ColumbusFood #OSU #ColumbusOhio
