Finally Picking Fresh Strawberries in Dallas Spring 🍓
🍓I’ve been following Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm on Instagram for two or three years. They only open for about a month every spring for picking, but I’ve always missed out. Either I couldn’t wake up early, or I was busy on weekends, or I arrived too late. Twice I remembered to go, but the weather was bad. And they don’t sell tickets in advance... It feels like you either have to be super disciplined and wake up early, or it’s all down to luck. 🍓So last year, I said that in 2025, I would definitely make it happen! This year, on April 7th, they finally had their grand opening! Another strawberry season has arrived! Before going, I checked their Instagram and saw that they predicted it would be very crowded on Saturday, their first weekend of opening, with good weather and plenty of ripe strawberries. 🍓The farm opens the parking lot at 9 a.m. and starts letting people in at 10 a.m. I thought I’d just get there around 9. Who knew that by 8:30 a.m., there was already a line of cars waiting at the entrance... It was really, really popular! At around 9:40 a.m., the parking lot still hadn’t officially opened, but the owner already announced that they would close the gate as soon as they opened at 10 a.m. Hahaha. Fortunately, I did wake up early today and made it in time. 🌟You can check out the rest of the picking process in my photos and captions. If it’s your first time, you need to buy their special red basket before entering. You can only use their red baskets to hold the strawberries. They cost $4 each. About a third of the people there were repeat visitors, many of whom brought their old red baskets, allowing them to join a shorter queue for direct entry. ✨The first question many friends asked after seeing my strawberries was whether they were sweet. Answer: The big ones are super sweet! The smaller ones are slightly less sweet, so make sure to pick the reddest and biggest ones! (If you go late, the good ones might be gone, so it’s still best to go early.) #SpringVlog #DallasLife #DallasWeekend #EverydayMoments
